Is it worth it?

Thassophile (n.) A love of the sea, someone who loves the sea, ocean.

Since I can remember iv been drawn to the ocean. These something about them that makes me instantly calm. My fondest memories are of my family’s holidays to sea side, hunting for shells and sea glass with my Dad, building sand castles and filling up my bucket with everything I found.

The ocean today is a place I go to get away, relax and feel calm. I’m a worrier,  I over think every little thing and recently it’s coursed me to have panic attacks, I never understand what people meant when they talked about what happens to them while there having one.

First your breathing get’s faster and faster Second you can’t breathe, then your mouth goes dry and your hands start to shake. For the rest of the day you feel tired and drained.

Now more than ever iv been yearning for the Ocean. There is something about watching the waves go back and forth looking out to endless ocean that brings perspective. What is truly worth all the worries and what really isn’t.

A spontaneous trip to the beach changed my perspective and iv been feeling so much better! Well I still worry but I feel like its more justified now, I think about it and say to myself  “Is it worth it”?

Designing my own jewellery & starting my own business

For the past few weeks, Iv not been feeling myself, stress at work has become a problem and iv needed to take a step back to think about what makes me happy and to focus my energy on the right things.

A while back I started making and selling jewellery. I sold some bracelet’s to friends, family and also to a bride for her to wear on her wedding day! This is my passion, I love creating and a making pretty jewellery. So I started again but made a few changes.

Iv grown up a lot since the first time I started making my own jewellery, this time I’m creating simple, delicate unique pieces drawing inspiration from nature – from the colours of the ocean to the colours of forests and mountains. I pair rough cut stones, gems and beads with sterling silver charms; I love working with stones and gems as each one has its own character, no two are ever the same.

These are a few of pieces I have started working on, I would love it if you could leave a comment or message me with your opinions! Would you wear them? Is there anything you would change?

My city break beauty/skincare essentials

In 2 days my partner and I are traveling to Edinburgh for a long weekend, I’m in love with this city and can’t wait to show into my partner! We will only be there for 4 days so we are sharing a North Face base camp duffel bag, which means packing light! This might be difficult!

That past few weeks my skin hasn’t been right so I’m taking minimal make up on this trip to let my skin get back on track! But I will be tacking the basics my Born this way Two faced foundation, massacre and my soup and glory eye brow pencil.

The travel bag ill be taking is my new Rituals Travel bag – £25  the main pocket is massive, inside as two smaller pockets perfect for small lipsticks or balms. I really love this bag, it hold more than I thought it would and the colour is amazing!

Inside my travel bag

LUSH – The Comforter – £9.95 I love this shower creme and couldn’t imagine traveling without it. As I have the large bottle I’m going to transfer some to a small travel sized container. The comforter leaves your skin felling soft and smelling amazing!

LUSH Bubblegum lip scrub – £5.75 Edinburgh is cold and my lips can get easy shaped and sore so this is a must! I’ll be keeping tis in my small backpack for while we are exploring the city. This product is perfect for taking away dry skin before applying lip blame or lipstick.

Simple Kind to skin face wash & moisturizer, My skin recently has been horrible all due to stress! So iv been focusing a lot on my skin care route and see what works for me. I’m taking both so I can carry on part of my skin care route while I’m away.

I also have the cleanser and toner which iv been loving but my parter will kill me if I take all these bottles. He’s carrying the back pack!!

Paul Smith Tooth brush £11, I received this as a gift years go and totally forgot about it.  I love it as a travel toothbrush.

Lastly I’m be taking my Tangle Tezzer, I can not travel with out this thing!!

I hope you liked this post and found it little bit helpful, I’ll be sharing a lot about my Edinburgh trip in the next few week’s so stay tuned!

A day exploring London

Iv never had the chance to really see  London, every time I have visiting in the past I have never got the chance to explore and be a proper tourist. We started on Oxford street and walked to Harrods stopping along the way to look in shops and take photos, from Harrods we walked on to Buckingham palace, Big Ben and Trafalgar square.

After walking though a Trump protest, we then headed to M&M world and China town. I loved china town, we spent a bit of time exploring and taking photos, we also looked in a few Chinese sweet shops. On our way back to the car we walked though Soho and went to The Humming bird bakery for a few cupcakes!

Once we got in the car home we realized we have had walked over 11 miles !! Tip – wear comfy shoes!!!

There is still a lot of London still left to see but this trip has made me want to spend more time in the city. I will definitely be booking a weekend away to London soon!

Sophie Loves ~ Disney

One thing I haven’t talked about on my blog is my love for Disney. Disney was my childhood, just like many other children I was brought up watching the movies, singing the songs, wishing I was a mermaid with red hair and dreaming about the day I would find my own prince charming. Other children’s Disney childhood memories were the Disney parks, my family didn’t have the money to take my sister and I to any of the Disney park’s, so that’s still on my wish list now more than ever! So growing up Disney was just these amazing movies!

I was a very shy kid, I wasn’t very academic, drawing was the only thing I knew I could do and I could do well. Now that I have grown up only now I can see where my love for drawing and Art has come from it’s from Walt Disney! His animation style, creativeness and dream like personality which I don’t think anyone else in the world will ever have again made me want to draw and create. I have to thank Walt for inspiring me and giving me imagination! But most importantly, for making me believe in magic.

Fitness #1 Setting my self a fitness goal

This has to be the first time in my life were I have ever set myself a fitness goal, but recently iv felt like I need to make a change! My fitness level has increased since I started my new job, I walk over 7 & 8 mile a day, when we last visited London we walked 11 miles! So I know I can do it, I just need to add those miles to my ever day routine.

My goal is to RUN, Im going to get myself fit enough to Run the Disney half Marathon!

Ok so I know what your thinking it’s a pretty big goal, but I’m not expecting it to be easy and it’s definitely going to take time and a lot of hard work but I really need to do is! Being fit isn’t just a fad to me I know this will make my life better , I’ll feel better and look better! This isn’t just to run a marathon, I want it to be a lifestyle change!

What has made me want to set myself a fitness goal… Well I have started fasting, I have regulated how many hours of the day I can eat, Instead of eating from the first hour I wake up and snacking late into the night, I now wait till around 10 or 11 am to eat and give myself a 8 or 9 hour window to eat. Once that time is over I then stop till the following day.  Within the fasting time I can eat whatever I like – within reason, and after that time I drink water.

Fasting has given me so much more energy, I’m sleeping better and I’m waking up refreshed and ready for the day. This has made want to work out.
